EL-10-30-C with C-mount camera

With Optotune’s tunable lens technology it is possible to design optics that can adjust to a variety of objects. Imaging systems can be focused within milliseconds at distances from 3000 to 50mm maintaining high optical quality. With no translational mechanics involved, the entire optics can be made compact, robust and dust-free.

The C-mount version of the EL-10-30 lens makes it easy to integrate Optotune's tunable lenses in camera systems. The C-mount thread fits directly onto standard industrial cameras or onto fixed focus lenses with filter threads. Additionally, a glass lens can be added to offset the focal length range. With a positive power offset-lens, the doublet system can achieve focal lengths as low as 16mm. With a negative power offset-lens, the focal range can include infinity, such that the EL-10-30-C can be placed in front of existing optics as a close-up lens. The image on the right shows an example of the EL-10-30-C used in combination with a C-mount camera (1/2" CCD sensor) and a 35mm varifocal lens.

Focus-tunable lenses can also be used to adjust lighting parameters to offer increased flexibility and reduce the number of light sources or the overall power consumption.
