Optotune’s products are controlled by current. Off-the-shelf controllers are available that provide the necessary current to the specific product and offer advanced software control options, such as temperature compensation and response time optimization.

Controllers range from compact portables, R&D development kits, embedded options, to 24/7 industrial operation solutions.

While Optotune designs and manufactures own controllers, we are happy to partner with electronics experts such as Gardasoft and Scaps to provide optimal control solutions for specific industries. Furthermore, an increasing number of cameras are available, which include liquid lens control, such as the ITALA G.EL series by Opto Engineering.

Control your liquid lens directly from the camera

A great option for machine vision users is to connect liquid lenses directly to the camera and control it through its SDK or via GenICAM. This can be done either by selecting a camera model that supports Optotune’s embedded controller ECC-1C (e.g. from Basler) or by selecting a camera with build in liquid lens controller such as the ITALA G.EL series by Opto Engineering.
