Evaluation kits

To bridge the gap between initial concept and full-scale implementation, we offer comprehensive Optotune evaluation kits.

These kits are specifically designed to simplify your journey with Optotune technology.

  • Complete, ready-to-use platforms for evaluating Optotune products
  • Integrated optics, electronics, and imaging components
  • Plug-and-play operation with standard hardware and extensive software and SDKs
  • Compact, modular, and ideal design for quick lab testing and prototyping
  • Great way to determine the feasibility for your application
  • Example software and documentation included

Optotune evaluation kits integrate Optotune tunable optical elements, such as liquid lenses and fast steering mirrors into a complete imaging setup. The kits combine these tunable components with cameras, control electronics, and software interfaces, allowing users to directly observe and measure the impact of dynamic optics and system performance in real time. This development kit is accompanied with software to demonstrate its suitability for surveillance, inspection, compact industrial vision systems, and embedded inspection and sensing.

Optotune evaluation kits significantly reduce the time and effort required to assess Optotune tunable products for new applications. Instead of designing custom test setups, users gain immediate access to a proven, application-oriented platform that reflects real-world system conditions. This enables faster feasibility studies, clearer performance benchmarking, and more confident design decisions early in the development process.

By providing a hands-on environment for experimenting with dynamic optical functions, these kits help developers explore innovative imaging concepts, optimize system architectures, and accelerate the transition from concept to prototype. They are particularly valuable in applications where speed, flexibility, and compact optical design are critical.

Product variants

The FOV development kit features two imaging systems: a wide-angle objective for overview and a narrow-angle objective (50 mm or 75 mm) for high resolution in the area of interest. This development kit is accompanied by software to demonstrate its suitability for surveillance and inspection applications (face recognition, autofocus, area-of-interest selection).

The ELM-S evaluation kit provides an easy-to-use platform to evaluate the capability of tunable liquid lenses to focus fast and accurately.

Key advantages:
  • Board-level camera (USB 3.0)
  • S-mount optics with integrated liquid lens
  • Integrated lens controller
